Oscar Ramirez and Dana Thompson Named Two of The Hill’s 2021 Top Lobbyists

December 15, 2021 – Washington, D.C. – Fulcrum Public Affairs is excited to announce that both of its co-founders, Oscar Ramirez and Dana Thompson, have been named as two of The Hill’s Top Lobbyists of 2021. As highlighted by The Hill, this year has been one of the busiest years for D.C.’s influencers on Capitol Hill and K Street, between the COVID-19 relief package, bipartisan infrastructure bill, and the Democrats’ climate and social spending plan. The list, published annually, recognizes those who wielded their connections and knowledge most effectively for their clients. This is the third consecutive year that Ramirez and Thompson have been featured on the list.

Holding leading positions in the Obama Administration and on Capitol Hill, Oscar Ramirez has been a prominent strategist for many years. He served as a senior advisor to Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis in the Obama Administration and as chief of staff and legislative director for three members of Congress, including Financial Services Oversight Subcommittee Chair Al Green (D-TX-09). As a Hill staffer, Oscar was president of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association. Ramirez has also been recognized as a “2020 Top Lobbyist” from the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics, one of Washington’s “most influential movers and shakers under 40” by Washington Life Magazine, and one of the Top “40 Under 40 Latinos in American Politics” by the HuffPost.

Dana Thompson has extensive experience in federal and state government relations. He served in a senior staff role and as the key liaison for former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to the National Governors Association, the Maryland Congressional Delegation and the U.S. Congress, and the Obama Administration, working closely with elected officials, appointees, and policy staff. As former legislative director and chief counsel to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA-43) and chief of staff for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX-18), Thompson has impacted a myriad of legislation through his work on Capitol Hill. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is an alum of Gonzaga College High School and Yale University. He also serves as a member of the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum Advisory Board.
